In April 2021, Mike Cargill, Director of UK STEM, teamed up with fellow Sofia STEM and skill’s expert Rich Hurst to ‘virtually’ link STEM into the curriculum and future careers opportunities with over 300 Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students attending Redcar’s Lakes Primary School. Never one to be deterred by a coronavirus lockdown, Mike also teamed up with Beckie Cargill, UK STEM Associate, to mentor a GCSE student at Howden School through a week of virtual STEM work experience being trialled by the RWE Group Sofia Offshore Wind Farm skills and education team.
