Opportunities in the offshore renewables sector require a variety of specialist skills, such as fibre optics, aeronautics, plant operation and steel rigging. Over the past year, Mike Cargill, Director of UK STEM, has been active engaging local residents and students across Teesside and East Yorkshire with STEM opportunities in the offshore renewables sector. Mike represented Sofia at the August and October 2021 Redcar & Cleveland College jobs and training fairs, and provided one-to-one qualifications consultations and advice on apprenticeship opportunities.
